Suzanne Tabachnick – Owner and Founder of Social Foundations
In 2007 Suzanne started Social Foundations, running small well matched groups from her home in Culver City.
Starting her own social learning practice was a practical and necessary step for Suzanne. Her daughter Ava was diagnosed with autism in 2005. After attending an early intervention program with her daughter, she realized that she wanted the same things for her child with social challenges that she wanted for her typically developing child: to learn how to make connections that nourish and sustain her, build competence as a valued, contributing member of a community, and develop confidence and skill in figuring out and navigating the social landscape for herself. After researching different programs, Suzanne completed both the mentorship and internship programs with Michelle Garcia Winner at the Center for Social Thinking in San Jose, California.
